The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Submission to Barnboken – tidskrift för barnlitteraturforskning/Journal of Children's Literature Research is taken to imply that the same manuscript is not under consideration by another journal. If the manuscript forms part of a book currently in press, the authors should specify details of the publisher of this book and expected date of publication.

Publication feePublication in Barnboken – tidskrift för barnlitteraturforskning/Journal of Children's Literature Research is free of charge until further notice.
Length Maximum 40,000 characters, including space between words, bibliography and pictures/graphs/charts.
Format Use Times point 12 and double spacing throughout your manuscript, including indented quotations. Use one space between words. Use a blank line before and after indented quotations. Do not use quotation marks for indented quotations. Use a maximum of three levels of headings made clear by orthographic indicators, i.e. capitals, italics, bold etc.
Title The title should be informative and accurate and at the same time trigger the interest of the reader. If the article is not written in English, please provide a title in English.
Title page Organize the title page in the following way: 1) title of manuscript, 2) name of author(s), 3) name of department(s) and institution(s), and 4) name and full postal address of the corresponding author who also acts as 'Guarantor' for all parts of the paper.
Figures Upon acceptance please supply figures in JPG-format.
If the figures have been taken from sources not copyrighted by the author, it is the author’s sole responsibility to secure the rights from the copyright holder to reproduce those figures/graphs/images for both worldwide print and web publication. All reproduction costs charged by the copyright holder must be borne by the author. When figures/graphics/images are reproduced, a parenthesis should be added to the figure legend thus: (Reproduced with permission from xxx.)
Abstract Articles must include an abstract of up to 300 words. The abstract should stand alone, enabling a reader to decide whether or not to proceed to the full text of the article. Please provide an abstract in English.
Keywords After the abstract, please give 5-10 key words for readers looking for material by key word searching on Internet. Avoid using the same words as in the title.
Biographical details 4-5 lines. Include full name(s), current professional affiliation, and important publications.
Reviews Barnboken – tidskrift för barnlitteraturforskning/Journal of Children's Literature Research also publishes reviews of critical literature. Authors retain copyright of their work, with first publication rights granted to The Swedish Institute for Children's Books. However, authors are required to transfer copyrights associated with commercial use to the Publisher.
